This year’s event was inspired in July when Lisa came across a birthday card that Emily had made for her in 2008, when Emily was 15. The card has a beautiful flower painted on the front, and it reminded Lisa of a series of flower-themed “Forever” postage stamps she had seen. The idea occurred to her to create a Forever stamp from Emily’s art. It turns out the Post Office only allows you to make stamps that are for particular denominations, like th 55-cent regular mail stamp -- not the Forever stamp. But we still went ahead with the idea and made stamps from Emily’s art
